Does Alkemics provide a generic template ?

Yes. We use a standard XML template and a JSON template

Are there mandatory attributes ?

Yes:

• GLN
• GTIN
• NameLegal or NamePublicLong or NamePublicShort (If one of them is not specified the import for the product will fail).

Are some attributes limited in size ?

Yes:

• namePublicLong is limited to 200 characters
• namePublicShort is limited to 35 to characters

What happens if I push data that already exist ?

The data will be updated to reflect your most recent push.

Can I push more than one product per XML file ?

Yes and there is no limit on the number of products you can include in your XML file.

Can I push more than one Alkemics product category per XML file ?

Yes. The Alkemics product category is defined at the product level and not at the XML file level.

How do I specify the language of the data ?

Some attributes are declinable by language. You will be able to specify the language for these attributes and add data in as many languages as you need.

How do I know which attributes I should enter for a specific Alkemics product category ?

What happens if the brand doesn't match ?

During the import process Alkemics runs a matching service that is not case sensitive. If it does not match what we have on the platform, the brand will be left empty.

Can I validate an XML import with an XSD per Alkemics product category ?

Unfortunately this isn't available at the moment.

What happens if I push a code which doesn't exist in the code list for a given attribute ?

This will cause the import to fail for the product.

How do I delete attribute data ?

Specific attribute data can be archived by leaving it blank.

If there is no tag set to True for any asset linked to the product , is that a problem? is it still integrated ?

You should have at least one packshot.

What happens when assets are stored in a non public URL?

You can setup a username/password authentication and add the credentials to the asset URL.  However you should know that we store those URL in plain text within our system. 

Is there a size limit for assets attached to product pages?

The size limit is 25MB.

What are the image's formats you support?

We support JPEG, PNG and TIFF formats.

Do you have a test environment to test import?

Yes, we provided a sandbox enviroments to test imports.  You can ask for a test sandbox by contacting [email protected].

SFTP

Why would a manufacturer need a SFTP ?

A SFTP account is mandatory to allow a manufacturer to import its data through the generic XML import.

What is needed to create a SFTP account ?

The manufacturer needs to provide a public SSH key. Alkemics will then create the account and communicate the credentials to the client.

How long does it take to create a SFTP account ?

Less than 24 hours once the I/O team has the public SSH key.
